Holiday Gift Guide Day 21 - The Hobbit Ocarina from STL Ocarina

I received a product to review from STL Ocarina. Opinions expressed in this post are strictly my own.

Next up on the Christmas Gift List is my husband.  As a lover of music, video games, and fantasy books, I have the perfect gift for him - The Hobbit Ocarina from STL Ocarina.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the ocarina, ocarinas are actually pocket sized wind instruments, that have been around for more than a 1000 years.  Ocarinas are similar in play style to a recorder, but they are more whimsical and fun. An ocarina is usually oval shaped and can have anywhere from 4 to 12 holes.

The Hobbit Ocarina is about 5 inches long, (tuned in the key of C Major), with a pitch range of 13 notes. It also comes with a Lord of the Rings Songbook.

I was going to make a video of me playing the Hobbit Ocarina, but as I am not musically inclined like my husband, I decided it was a bad idea.  Instead here is a video from someone that actually know what they are doing, playing the actual Hobbit Ocarina

To Buy - The Hobbit Ocarina retails for $59.99. Besides the Hobbit, they also have a dwarf and elf style. If you are looking for something even more basic, they even have a few styles for kids  starting at just $9.99.
