Gift Idea - Our America Game

Last week my daughter came home from school with an I Voted Sticker.  She said everyone in the school got to vote and asked us all about the election.  We tried to explain it to her the best that we could, and even let her stay up a little late to watch the results.  Even though she is only in first grade, she was really interested in learning all about our country.  So today's gift idea is for her.

Gift Idea - Ideal Our America Game

About - Learn about the history; heroes; and heritage of the USA as you play. Roll the color die to see which of the six different categories of questions is yours to answer. Have fun following the state flags around your own game board. The first player to collect all six category cards and reach the finish square wins!

Game comes with
  • four game boards
  • four playing pieces
  • twenty-four category cards
  • 108 question cards
  • instructions
My husband and I played a quick mini round of this game, and I have to admit I didn't do so well.  I know that I learned all of it at some point, but I was surprised at how much I forgot.  I remember all of the presidents, all of the states, and even most of the capitals.  But anything about wars, heroes, artists, inventors, or almost anything else that made America what it is today.....  Well I struggled.

To Buy - The Our America Game from Ideal retails for $22.00 and can be purchased at a number of retailers nationwide. It's recommended for kids ages 8 and up, but is a great gift idea for anyone that wants to learn the history of our nation. I'm going to do a little studying if my own, and then it will be time for a rematch.
