Gift Idea - American Girl Caroline Doll + a book giveaway

Gift Idea - American Girl Caroline Doll

When I was younger, I used to love American Girl. Samantha was my favorite, but I read all of the stories that I could get my hands on.

This past summer I introduced those same American Girl characters to my daughter. We read all of my old books (which I still have). We watched all of the movies. And we also listened to all of the audiobooks for bedtime stories. As much fun as it was to relive my childhood, what I really enjoyed was watching her fall in love with those same characters.

I know that American Girl has introduced a new girl of the year every year since 2001, but the girls that I always connected with were the Historical Character Dolls. There was just something magical about being transported to a whole new time and place, and experiencing life along with girls from a different age.

New Historical Characters are released very sporadically, so I was extremely excited when I heard that the new Caroline Doll and book set was scheduled to release earlier this year.

Caroline Abbot® - 1812

As the War of 1812 begins, so does the story of Caroline Abbott's bravery. She loves sailing with her father, but when he's captured, Caroline must help keep the family's shipyard running. When she sees a chance to rescue her father, Caroline discovers that she must use her mind and heart to guide her decisions.

The Caroline Abbot doll is really pretty. Like all of the American Girl Dolls, she is 18" and has a cloth body and vinyl head & limbs. This makes her soft, huggable, and poseable. She has waist length golden blond hair and bright aquamarine eyes. And did I mention her hair is curly?

She also features
  • A soft pink empire-waist dress with a woven floral sash and ruffle trim
  • Lacy pantalettes and ribbed-knit stockings
  • Pink shoes
To Buy - The Caroline Doll and Meet Caroline Book retail for $105, and can be purchased online at AmericanGirl.com. Also available are coordinating clothes, books, and awesome accessories (like her dad's ship).

When I was younger I always wanted a Samantha Doll, but never asked my parents for one. The stories always seemed so real to me and I was just enchanted by her life and how pretty she was. Kik is her mothers daughter, and I know she feels the same way about all of the books she has read. I'm excited to share this doll and the Caroline Stories with her and watch the books come to life in a whole new way. I would definitely recommend any of the American Girl Dolls or Books as a great gift for young girls.

To Win - I'm giving away one of the American Doll Books to one of you!

These books are really so good! My daughter had a few about her doll, Kit, and also a few of the others, but we don't have any of these!
