I have always liked Disney. They have a way of making everything fun. From movies to toys to games, Disney knows how to please. So, when I saw commercials about Disney's new video game title Disney Universe, I knew that I wanted to try it out. I am happy to report that Disney has delivered fun once again.
The premise of Disney Universe is that it gives you the opportunity to enter the movies and live through them. However, the game's "bad guy", Hex has corrupted the movies and is out to stop you. So, your character gets to don different suits from the Disney stories and battle through the bots that Hex is controlling.
The game is very easy to play and is a perfect game for kids. Each level is broken down into smaller objectives and each is accompanied with directions that make it fairly simple to complete them. The real fun in the game is that you are frequently bombarded by hordes of bots intent on your destruction.
Most of the game is spent smashing your way through these enemies and gathering coins that allow you to unlock more levels and suits. If you look carefully, you can also gather stars that allow you level up each of the different character suits, making them more powerful. At times, you can also participate in challenges where you compete against the other players.
While I haven't fully completed the game yet, I have played through many of the levels. The game levels look really well done and extend certain scenes from some of the Disney levels. So far, I've enjoyed the levels from Monsters Inc. the most.
Disney Universe is a fun game that's a perfect fit for Disney loving gamers of all ages.
