Back to School - Zazzle.com Review

Kik's first week of school is officially over! There were a few bumps along the way, but all in all it went fairly well.

Every day last week, and for the next couple of weeks they will be celebrating different colors. Every day is assigned a color, and they are supposed to wear that color to school. Then the whole day will be spent exploring that color.

As Kik is my little fashion diva, she has been planning every outfit with care. A snag in her planning came 3 days into the school year when the official color was yellow. She has quite a varied wardrobe, but I don't think that we have a single piece of yellow clothing in the house. Our skin is olive colored, and yellow makes all of us look ... well yellow.

After much searching and deliberating, we finally found an older yellowish/green shirt that she was willing to wear. The only problem is, the only other color we couldn't find in her drawer is green. And of course, that's today's color.

I really wish that I had know about the color days when we were shopping for school clothing. If I had known I would have made her a "colorful"shirt on Zazzle.com that would have taken care of those problem days.

With Zazzle.com you can create your own products, or customize those that are already made.  At Zazzle.com, I could take this Dancing Robot Pop Art Shirt and change the color, picture, or even add some text.

I know it seems strange with how girly Kik is, but she actually loves this shirt!

When making a product, you can upload any image and pick from a huge selection of products to put the item on.  I like that when you are doing something yourself they give a warning sign if there is a problem with the file type or size of the image.  Their program is easy to use, and its fun too!

Besides shirts, Zazzle.com also has a huge selection of binders, bags, shoes, etc. that are perfect to add a little flair to your child's school year.

Since Kik does need school supplies, we spent quite a bit of time on the Zazzle website looking for the perfect binder to hold all of her folders and notebooks.  I thought about letting her design her own, but with the huge selection available I knew she could find exactly what she was looking for!

She fell in love with this Candicorn the Unicorn Binder.

I didn't want to write her name on the binder in marker, so I did add our last name to the spine, but that's all I changed.

When the binder got here in the mail, she was so excited.  It was everything she wanted - pink with a beautiful unicorn, and just for her!

Zazzle.com prints on Avery Binders, so the binder quality was great and the rings are easy for Kik to use.  I was also pleased with the printing.  Because I was using a random person's picture and design I was a tiny bit worried about how it would turn out, but it looks great!
