Since Kik has been in school, it's been a lot harder to stick to a set eating schedule. She doesn't like to eat in the mornings and is always so hungry by the time lunch rolls around. I've started making lunch around 11 - a full hour and a half before she needs to leave for Kindergarten. Which of course means that she is hungry again when it's time to leave in the afternoon.
Being pregnant, I have to admit that we have more than a normal amount of junk food lying around the house - chips, icecream, chocolate, etc. She has started to think that she needs some kind of treat after every meal. Since this is really not the norm for our household, I've been looking for healthy options that she actually likes to eat.
I was sent some new items from Sun-maid, and I've found that they are perfect for this!
We buy raisins all of the time, but we usually buy the generic cheaper brand. My girls don't like them very much because they are dry and kind of hard. When we opened the Sun-Maid raisins they didn't really want to try them and grumbled a bit. Once we got them to try them, they loved them. They were so much easier to eat, and they didn't last very long.
What they liked even more were the Sun-Maid Raisin Mini Snacks. They thought that the boxes were so cute and felt like giants eating them.
My husband loved the cranberries and fruit bits and commandeered them all for himself. I don't think that I even got to try any of the fruit bits!
To Buy - Sun-Maid products are available at grocery stores nationwide, and are a great healthy option for lunches and after school snacks! I love that the Sun-Maid website has all of the nutrition information listed right by the product, and that they have recipe ideas as well. This recipe for raisin apple puff looks delicious!
