Why Grandkid Rock? John Boydston explains, “Grandparents are cool, beloved, and cherished, which is why on each of my CDs there are a couple of songs with shout-outs to them. I thought why not put some of those tunes together and share a little grandparental love? I even re-tracked the lyrics on ‘I Caught My Daddy Watching Cartoons,’ making the old guy even older yet.”
Born in Oklahoma, John Boydston graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Masters in Journalism. He spent ten years working as a television news producer, making stops at CNN, WSVN, and WSB before leaving the news biz in the mid-’90s to become a stay-at-home dad, a move that set the scene for his rebirth as Daddy A Go Go. All this happened when his sons were young, with the boys providing inspiration for many of the earliest Daddy A Go Go songs. Boydston has never looked back.

We REALLY loved this CD...all of us got down and boogied...
The music reminded me of a cross between Georgia Satellites meets Lynyrd Skynyrd meets Jefferson Airplane with a bit of Peter, Paul and Mary thrown in for good measure~!! The songs REALLY rock and get you up and groovin'!!
Every one of us who heard this music couldn't resist tapping their toes, and the kids had a blast~!! Their favourites were Ants in my Pants, which was unanimously agreed upon, as well as, Eat Every Bean and Pea on Your Plate, Way to Go, Idaho! and The Sports Song. I got a good giggle out of I Caught My Grandad Watching Cartoons, my granddaughter calls my dude, Poppa, and on the CD there is a line about catching Poppa watching Spongebob Squarepants...I swear to you our granddaughter just said that to him a few weeks ago...LOL The songs are extremely easy to relate too...and if your a retro family living in a techno world like we are, then you will ABSOLUTELY adore this CD~!!
I know WE did~!!!
