FIFO "50 States" by Hayley Rose

Fifo "50 States" is an extremely informative book for all ages.  Fifo the bear takes the reader on a journey through the United States explaining a little about each state as he travels along.  While the book is geared towards the younger generation, unless you know everything there is to know about each individual state, then I'm positive you will find something in this delightful book.

The book lists each state in alphabetical order and with rhyming prose Fifo teaches you the state's capital, it's flower, national tree, bird as well as, the numerical listing of each state as they joined the constitution.  The pages are wonderfully illustrated with other facts drawn throughout, things like what a state is "famous" for, the export of the states industries and much more.  Did you know that Kentucky was the 15th state??  South Dakota's national tree is the Black Hills Spruce or how the Mockingbird is Tennessee's state bird??  With so many interesting tidbits to share and explore, the children will enjoy talking about the things they find throughout the pages.

This is a very interesting book that my children quite enjoyed, we are Canadians and we learned so much from it.  I would suggest home-school families pick a copy of this up and add it to their reference shelves, as well, school/public libraries would also benefit.  I would love to see Fifo take us around the world, or to other countries and teach us more about the things we don't know and should.  My children thank you Fifo for being such a wonderful tour guide, we look forward to more of your adventures.
