Rock N Learn Phonics Volume 1 DVD Review and Giveaway

What do you get when you combine a rock musician and a school Psychologist? - The Rock 'N Learn Educational DVD Series!

With over 50 titles covering reading, math, science, and everything in between, Rock 'N Learn is a great educational tool for children. As a mother of such a young child, I was really excited when I found out that I had the chance to review their Phonics Volume 1 DVD.

Instead of making my daughter sit down and watch the show, I decided to try and be sneaky and put it in when the whole family was just hanging out in the living room. When the music came on everyone in the room stopped what they were doing and simultaneously turned towards the tv.

The music was catchy and the graphics were loud and caught my attention. Within minutes my daughter was singing the songs and sounding out the letters along with the people on the screen.

The DVD started out teaching short and long vowel sounds and then moved on to other basic phonic skills. It covered rhyming, and silent e, and finally basic sentence practice. The lesson progression was great.

My daughter is smart, but she has a high squeaky voice, and she doesn't enunciate very well. I loved that there was an on screen mouth that sounds out the words, showing kids the correct tongue and lip placement for each sound. She really needs that.

Here is a little more what you can expect from the Phonics Volume 1 DVD
