The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan

The Ruins of Gorlan (The Ranger's Apprentice, Book 1) by John Flanagan

Rating: This is the first book in the series and when I first saw it I didn't think that it looked to promising. However, when I finally picked it up I couldn't put it back down. The story is not terribly complicated, but I was so interested in the characters. It is a very appropriate read for all ages and I very highly recommend it.

Will is an orphan who has always dreamed of becoming a knight. However, when he is instead chosen to become a ranger's apprentice he will have to learn and grow in ways he wasn't expecting. He will make new friends and learns what it means to be a ranger, but will he be ready when his barely emerging skills are put to the test?
