The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale
My wife read this book a long time ago and recently bought it for me. She said that it was a good book, but couldn't remember much about it. I was looking forward to reading it but I didn't know how much I would like it. I thought that this was such a well written book. I loved reading it. It has an excellent story and very likable characters. It is very clean, but there is some fighting in a few places. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good story. (It is the first book in the Books of Bayern Series)
Princess Anidori of Kildenree has been treated like she was fragile ever since a childhood illness. When she is betrothed to the prince of a neighboring country, the last thing she expects is a rebellion by her hand-maid and soldiers. Left alone, Ani becomes the Goose Girl, working at the castle. She will have to discover new friends and an inner strength in order to reclaim her rightful place as princess.
