Candyfloss by Jacqueline Wilson

Candyfloss by Jacqueline Wilson

This is the type of book that people will either love or hate. It is full of deeper meaning and parts of it are quite depressing.

Flossie's mom is remarried and thriving. Flossie's dad is the overweight owner of a bankrupt cafe. When Flossie's step-dad gets a job in Australia, Flossie must decide who to live with her mom or her dad. For various reasons Flossie chooses her dad and must leave the wealth and luxury of her previous life. With the loss of luxury comes the loss of those she once considered to be friends and the reality of being homeless. Flossie must decide what really matters in life and learns the meaning of true friendship.
