Igraine the Brave by Cornelia Funke

Igraine The Brave by Cornelia Funke

Rating:
This book was cute and fun. Cornelia Funke is a good writer, but this particular book wasn't as in depth as some of her other books. It was just a light, nice story.

Description:
Igraine comes from one of the most powerful magic families in the land. Her parents are the greatest magicians between the Whispering Woods and the Giants Hills, and her older brother Albert is a magician in training. Igraine has no interest in magic at all, and wants nothing more than to be a knight. When Osmund the Greedy takes over a nearby castle, Igraine gets her wish. Osmund plans to lay siege to Igraine's family castle and steal her parents magical singing books. Normally Igraine's parents would just turn Osmund and his soldiers into woodlice or fish, but they accidently turned themselves into pigs and can't do any magic at all. Igraine must go on her first knightly quest to retrieve the ingredients required to turn the pigs back into parents. And she must do it before Osmund finds a way into her castle.
